The Workhorse™ unbalanced regulator has been the standard in SCUBA diving for years. Why? Its rugged, simplistic, dependable, low cost design lends itself for use as a primary, recreational, technical and DECO regulator. This 40% Nitrox ready regulator in fact was utilized by the National Park Service as a primary SCUBA regulator in its 190+ foot dive to the B-29 bomber in Lake Mead! The Workhorse™ now comes standard with (1) Black (installed) (1) Green (Oxygen) and (1) Yellow (Nitrox) cover.

The S3 when combined with the R-OPRV (sold as a kit only) is a major component in bringing 2nd stage free flows under control.

The new OMS^® R-250 (40% Nitrox ready) 2nd stage features an adjustment knob for increased air flow and a Venturi assist for excellent WOB (work of breathing). The 40% Nitrox ready first stage incorporates a balanced diaphragm design that offers high performance and is clearly the choice for cold and/or contaminated water. The first stage is designed for vertical or horizontal positioning and with the (2) HP and (4) LP ports, many hose configurations are possible. Also available as an OCTOPUS with a 40” hose.

The new OMS^® Deep Performance™ regulators (R-600 and R-601) recently underwent extensive testing using a certified ANSTI simulator to demonstrate that they perform as well or better than many technical regulators at depth. The performance of OMS® Deep Performance regulators were tested using both US NAVY and EN-250 test parameters. At the extreme with a 1200 psi supply pressure and the breathing simulator ramped up to 75 lpm, the OMS^® regulators (R-600 and R-601) stayed well under the 2.0 J/L limit as they screamed past the 300 FSW mark until the chamber reached its max. depth of 329 FSW. At this depth the OMS^® Deep Performance regulator was still delivering a breathing performance at a flat 2.0 J/L! *Results of the testing showed that the R-600/601 regulators are highly recommended for overall work of breathing performance at depths to 329 FSW. At the Navy’s maximum depth limit for open circuit SCUBA (198 FSW), these regulators are capable of performing at work rates (62.5 RMV) far above the Navy’s minimum 22.5 RMV requirement. The R-601 tested with similar results.
